Follow Giovanni Aloi, Art Historian at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, on a tour of the most exciting modern and contemporary artists whose legacy and originality represent Italian art on the contemporary international scene. Tour limited to 25 people. Registration deadline: September 28th.

Giovanni Aloi is an author, educator, and publisher who lectures on the history of the art market and collecting for Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and New York. Aloi is also a faculty at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he teaches on the history of modern and contemporary art with a specialization on photography and readymade objects.

Aloi is a published author with Columbia University Press, Phaidon, and Prestel and has been appointed co-editor of the University of Minnesota series Art after Nature. Since 2006, he has been the Editor in Chief of Antennae, the Journal of Nature in Visual Culture (www.antennae.org.uk) which over 45 issues to date has featured some of the most exciting and controversial names in contemporary art. He is an ongoing contributor to BBC4 radio programs and a regular public speaker at the Art Institute of Chicago and Tate Galleries in London. He has co-curated exhibits for EXPO Chicago with prior curatorial projects including photography and time-based media. Aloi studied History of Art and Art Practice in Milan, before obtaining his postgraduate diploma in art history at Goldsmiths University in London, where he also earned his Postgraduate Diploma in Art History, a Master in Visual Cultures, and Doctorate.
