Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino announces the 5th<\/sup> edition of Friday, November 21, 2025 at 2.30 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Translation is the circulatory system of the world’s literatures” <\/p>\n The Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino is proud to announce the 5th<\/sup> edition of \u201c<\/strong>Dall\u2019Italiano al mondo\u201d \u2013 From Italian to the rest of the world<\/em> \u2013 an initiative designed to support the translation of Italian literature abroad and to promote networking between translators all over the world. <\/strong>The symposium aims to offer a compelling showcase of books to discover or rediscover\u2014interesting titles that often risk slipping through the cracks of business-as-usual publishing dynamics.<\/p>\n Italian fiction is in good shape, showing a 3% increase despite a period of decline of the market, as AIE (Italian Publishers association) recently announced in Frankfurt. \u201cIn a somewhat arduous scenario\u201d, says Ilide Carmignani, curator of the\u00a0DIAM\u00a0<\/em>symposium, \u201cit is encouraging to register that Italian fiction is fairing well and that our\u00a0translation rights have increased by 8% in in 2024<\/strong>, a result of Italy\u2019s presence as Guest of Honour in Frankfurt last year and Italy\u2019s second best performance since 2019. It is comforting to know that the interest in Italian book production is alive and growing. By promoting this annual conference, as Salone del Libro di Torino\u00a0we hope to keep building bridges and creating connection<\/strong>s, to arouse curiosity and promote exciting discoveries,\u00a0allowing Italian books and writers the widest possible outreach<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n The Turin International Book Fair has consistently recognized the importance of translators at both cultural and editorial levels.
