“Supporting an Ally: American Forces in Italy, 1918” a lecture by Jonathan R. Casey,Archivist and Edward Jones Research Center Manager  at the WWI Museum in Kansas City Jonathan Casey, Archivist and Edward Jones Research Center Manager at the WWI Museum in Kansas City, will speak about the role of the American Army in Italy at the time. He will draw from several collections of US soldiers who served in various locations in Italy, using excerpts from letters, photos, service records, photos. He will also touch upon the actions taken by the US to support Italy, as well as provide a brief overview of the WWI Museum in Kansas City and a historical review of the Liberty Memorial, emphasizing Italian connections such as the address of General Armando Diaz at the Memorial’s site dedication. Free and open to the public.
