Leonardo: The Flight of Birds & Flying Machines

Join us for the second of three lectures about Leonardo da Vinci by Daniele Macuglia, University of ChicagoAll through his life Leonardo was fascinated by the phenomenon of flight. Not only did he want to comprehend how birds fly, but  he  aimed at building flying machines that could help man follow Icarus’ myths. This class will be a journey inside Leonardo’s inner thoughts and will offer a critical evaluation of some of Leonardo’s most representative machine projects.
