The artist Enrico Magnani will talk about the unique artistic process used to create the works of art on display at the Italian Cultural Institute. None of these works were touched by the artist’s hands, brushes or other instruments. Throws of air and water were used only in order to diffuse the color.
Magnani will also talk about his journey as an artist, his early figurative period through his current abstract period. In addition, the artist will talk about his eclectic path that eventually led him to become an artist, including his experieince working as a scientific researcher in nuclear fusion. At a certain point in his career, Magnani felt the need to make use of art in order to proceed along those narrow paths of knowledge where purely rational speculation is not enough. He felt the need to draw from the emotion, from that intuition that is not irrational, but "conversely rational" that only art, at a certain level of development, can express.
Enrico Magnani is an Italian artist born in 1972. Enrico Magnani is an Italian artist active on the international art scene. His first exhibition opened in 1997 in Milan. Until 2006, he worked as a figurative painter and after a transition period, his work has become exclusively abstract. In the last few years, his original abstract artworks have brought him international attention. His works have been presented in museums, foundations, private galleries, and public institutions in Europe and the US. In 2010 his book "Interview with Myself" was published, in which the artist explains the choices that led him to abandon the world of scientific research to devote himself entirely to art, the abandonment of figurative painting, and the newly found message which he aims to communicate in his abstract works. The documentary film "Enrico Magnani - Mystical Treasures" was made and broadcast on national television in January of 2017. In February of 2017, more than one hundred of his artworks from the last ten years of his abstract period were featured in "The Gold of the Earth," an exhibition at the Cloisters of San Domenico in Reggio Emilia, marking his greatest retrospective of all times.
