September 27-30
Navy Pier – 600 E Grand Ave

expo chicago

We are pleased to announce that the Italian Cultural Institute will once again be collaborating with EXPO CHICAGO, an international contemporary and modern art exhibition held each year in Chicago. Opening the fall art season every September, EXPO CHICAGO takes place at historic Navy Pier whose vast vaulted architecture hosts leading international art galleries alongside one of the highest quality platforms for global contemporary art and culture. Dedicated to rigorous and challenging programming, EXPO CHICAGO initiates strategic international partnerships, built alongside strong institutional relationships with major local museums and organizations to open parallel exhibitions and events.

The following Italian curators will participate in EXPO Chicago’s debut Curatorial Exchange Program: Alessandro Rabottini, Chief Curator of OverGalleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea; Gianfranco Maraniello, Director of MART Museum of Trento/Rovereto; Frida Carazzato, Curatorial Assistant, Museion – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Bolzano. The Curatorial Exchange Program is an unprecedented international initiative that will offer select mid-career and established curators based around the world the opportunity to engage closely with their peers, convening as part of a four-day program that will include access to exhibitions, top private collections, artist studios, museums and institutions during EXPO CHICAGO.
