Ever wondered how your wireless device performs all those amazing functions it carries out white you are on the move? This talk aims to give a glimpse on the technological breakthroughs that allowed us to go from smoke signaling (one of the oldest forms of long-distance wireless communications) to smart phones.

Daniela Tuninetti is a Professor and the Department Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (ECE) at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). She is a co-director of the UIC’s NICEST lab (Networks Information Communications and Engineering Systems Laboratory), which conducts research on information and data processing, communication and storage over networks. https://nicest.lab.uic.edu/profiles/tuninetti-daniela/
