giovane favoloso 1

Leopardi is a young prodigy, growing up under the strict watch of his father, in a house that feels like a library. His mind travels, but his home is a prison: he reads everything, but the world remains distant. Europe is in the midst of change, revolutions break out and Giacomo desperately tries to find contacts with the outside. At twentyfour, when he leaves Recanati, the Italian bourgeoisie opens his doors, but the rebell Leopardi finds it difficult to fit in. In Florence he gets involved in a love triangle with Antonio Ranieri, the Napolitan friend who shares his bohémien life, and the beautiful Fanny. He moves to Naples with Ranieri where he dives into the desperate spectacle of this plebeian city full of life. Cholera outbursts: Giacomo and Ranieri complete their long journey, toward a countryside villa at the feet of Vesuvio. A story of genius, sorrows, poetry, love and adventure.
