Presented by the CSO, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago and the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. Curated by the University of Rome, "Tor Vergata" Department of History, Cultural Heritage, Education and Society, in collaboration with Museum of the Liberation of Rome, and Office of the History of the Italian State Police.

This exhibition details the events that took place in the 48 most tragic hours in the history of the Nazi occupation of Rome on March 23 and 24, 1944. The exhibit highlights the preparation and execution of the massacre at Fosse Ardeatine, while at the same time, underlining how this tragedy, which is part of Italy's collective memory, is still so strongly felt.
