In celebration of the Chicago premiere of director Gianfranco Rosi’s newest film, NOTTURNO, and his Career Achievement Award at the 56th Chicago International Film Festival, October 14-25, the Festival, the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago, and Cinecitta Luce present free virtual screenings of two of director Rosi’s earlier documentaries: BELOW SEA LEVEL and SACRO GRA.
Gianfranco Rosi has emerged as one of the most awarded documentarians working today. His observational films artfully and sympathetically depict the lives of subcultures and displaced peoples the world over.
