Giulia De Martino lives in a farm with her little brother Nico. Her mother left years ago and her older brother Loris, former legendary rally driver, is a junkie living in a caravan. Her father Mario is a former race driver too who believes in Gulia’s exceptional talent as a pilot and helps her emerge in a very sexist environment. When Mario suddenly passes away, Giulia is left alone, broke and about to be evicted from her family home.

She will have then to bring together all her strength, courage and determination in and out of the race track in order to win and keep together the shreds of what is left of her family. An extraordinary acting performance by Matilde De Angelis at her debut in a feature film, a completely new role for established film star Stefano Accorsi; a little gem of a film directed and edited like clockwork by Matteo Rovere who also shoots the car action sequences like no one ever did before in Italian cinema.

Presented by the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago
