In 1937 Giovanni Comini was promoted as federal officer by the will of his mentor Achille Starace, Secretary of the Fascist Party and second in command of the regime. Giovanni is the youngest person to cover this role, which puts him under the spotlight. At 29 years he has to deal with a delicate mission: to keep an eye on Gabriele D’Annunzio, more and more restless and dangerous for Mussolini. “Il Duce” cannot allow himself hitches and complications, while he works on expanding the Empire. This will be a true challenge for Comini, especially because of an unshakable reverential respect towards “il Vate”.
Free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Doors open at 5:30pm CT and seats are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, until capacity is reached.
The screening is part of Italian Biopics, a series of long-feature movies inspired by leading figures who have played a major role in the history of Italian culture.
