A unique and touching documentary that tells the story of Ennio Morricone through a long interview by Giuseppe Tornatore, interviewed with testimonies from artists and directors – such as Bertolucci, Montaldo, Bellocchio, Argento, i Taviani, Verdone, Barry Levinson, Roland Joffè, Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, Bruce Springsteen, Nicola Piovani, Hans Zimmer e Pat Metheny – music and archival footage. “Ennio” is also an exploration of the less well-known facts about Morricone, like his love for chess, which may have a mysterious connection with his music. An attitude for inventiveness, confirmed by his great passion for music and his willingness to continue experimenting.
The screening is part of Italian Biopics, a series of long-feature movies inspired by leading figures who have played a major role in the history of Italian culture.
