Leonora Addio tells the incredible story of Pirandello’s ashes and the turbulent ride of his urn from Rome to Agrigento, leading to a troubled burial 15 years after his death.The movie closes with Pirandello’s last novel, written 20 days before his passing: “Il Chiodo” (The Nail). In this story, the young Bastianeddu, taken from his Sicilian mother’s arms and forced to follow his father overseas, seems unable to heal this wound, which leads him to a senseless act.
Free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Doors open at 5:30pm CT and seats are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, until capacity is reached.
