The analysis of instructional material in use during the time period between WWI and WWII stimulates reflections on the role and use of teaching foreign languages and cultures as a soft power resource. What are the possible implications for our present times and pedagogical practices? This workshop is aimed at generating discussion among participants about the ethics and ontology of Foreign Language teaching and learning.
Roberto Dolci is Associate Professor of Linguistics at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and Visiting Scholar at the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute, CUNY, New York.
The event is free and open to the public.
