Every trip has a concrete reason, a foothold to which we can attach our dreams something worth leaving for, leaving everything behind. But every dream, like every journey, also has a fragile, uncertain side, against which hopes are often dashed.
A side where the solidity of the ground beneath our feet leaves room for the fragility of the glass of which our realities, and the realities of those who cross the sea for a better life, are often made.
BIOGRAPHY:
The Mauro Sigura Quartet was born in 2013 from an idea of the OUD player Mauro Sigura. Sigura is joined by Tancredi Emmi on double bass, Alessandro Cau on drums and Gianfranco Fedele on piano. The quartet is immediately appreciated for its originality. From 2014 to 2015 the Quartet performed in various festivals in Italy,
Tunisia, Ethiopia and Japan.
In 2016, the Quartet began its collaboration with the S’ARDMUSIC record label. With the Sardinian label it publishes his first album THE COLOR IDENTITY, awarded with the MARIO CERVO PRIZE, as the best album made in Sardinia in 2016. Since 2016 concerts have continued throughout Europe (Norway, Serbia, Romania, Germany, Turkey, Italy etc. .).
In 2020, the Mauro Sigura Quartet, realizes the second album with S’ardmusic, entitled TERRAVETRO, with the featuring of Luca Aquino. This record has also received the MARIO CERVO AWARD, as the best album made in Sardinia in 2020.
