On the Occasion of the 16th Annual Italian Language Week in the World,
Editor Marinella Mascia Galateria (University of Rome – La Sapienza) will present
Paola Masino: Dressing the Past: Outfits, Dreams and Memories of a XX Century Italian Writer
October 18th at 6pm
Italian Cultural Institute – 500 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1450
Through the publication of Paola Masino’s secret memoir, Album di vestiti (Rome: Elliot, 2015), editor Marinella Mascia Galateria introduces a unique twentieth-century Italian writer. In her recherche, which, like an imaginary catwalk, follows the memory of the clothes that marked her lifetime, Masino paints the portrait of an era: the divine 1920s and 1930s, experienced side by side with her family, as well as with writers Massimo Bontempelli and Luigi Pirandello.
Page after page, Album di vestiti captures the reader, unveiling the true roots of people and places that feature in Masino’s magical, visionary works.
