The seagull Kengah is hit by a black wave of oil while she is plunging into the sea in search of herrings. She manages to break and she desperately tries to fly and search for help nearby Hamburg. Before dying, she lands on the balcony of the cat Zorba, who promises her three things: he won’t eat her egg, he will take care of it and he will teach the newborn how to fly. So, once Kengah passes away, Zorba hatches the egg and, when it opens, he welcomes the baby seagull to the funny and close-knit cat communities at the port of Hamburg. But how can a cat teach to fly? To keep the third promise, Zorba will enlist the help of all his cat-friends and even the help of a man.
