a book presentation by Pier Giorgio Ardeni
This is a book of stories, hundreds and thousands of stories, which together tell of the exodus known as the Great Italian Emigration. This book includes the stories of the swarms of men, women and children who, out of sheer lack of a decent living, moved from a group of villages in the Apennine mountains of Bologna and Modena to labor in the American Midwest.
Pier Giorgio Ardeni is a professor of economics at the University of Bologna, specializing in poverty, inequality and immigration. He has worked throughout the world, trying to understand and help eliminate poverty, inequality and the causes of migration and under-development.RSVP at https://acrossocean.eventbrite.com
