The Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago invites you to celebrate the opening of its new premises at 150 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1580, with a special Open House on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m.
The evening will feature the first live U.S. performance by Colapesce Dimartino, the acclaimed singer-songwriter duo composed of Lorenzo Urciullo (Colapesce) and Antonio Di Martino (Dimartino). Their appearance at the Italian Cultural Institute’s opening marks a rare public performance since 2024, offering audiences a special opportunity to experience the duo live in Chicago.
Bio
Lorenzo and Antonio: two friends, two of the most sought-after and important songwriters on the Italian scene over the last decade. They returned to the Ariston stage in 2023, following the extraordinary success of “Musica Leggerissima,” certified 5x platinum, from their first album together, I Mortali, certified gold. This track captured critical and public acclaim in 2021, spending the most weeks at number one on the EarOne radio airplay chart, racking up five platinum certifications and over 150 million streams. The Spanish-language version by Ana Mena, entitled “Música Ligera,” also became an international hit, winning “Best Song in the Spain Category” at the Los 40 Music Awards in 2022 and earning double platinum status in Spain.
In November 2023, the duo released their second album, Lux Eterna Beach, which was preceded by the singles “Cose da pazzi,” the Sanremo track “Splash,” “Considera,” “La luce che sfiora di taglio la spiaggia mise tutti d’accordo,” “Ragazzo di destra,” and “Sesso e Architettura.” This marked a highly anticipated return for the pair, following the phenomenal success of “Splash,” a song that won both the Mia Martini Critics’ Award and the Lucio Dalla Press Room Award at the previous Sanremo Music Festival, and which was named Song of the Year by Rolling Stone Italy. It also coincided with their cinematic debut with the film La primavera della mia vita, which they co-wrote and starred in. The movie quickly became a cult hit, winning numerous accolades, including the Nastro d’ Argento for Best Original Soundtrack and Italy’s Globo d’Oro.
