The Italian Cultural Center at Casa Italia is excited to offer a chance for students to participate in a fabulous scholarship and concert event. Building upon our 48h year history of offering scholarship opportunities to young aspiring students; the Institute welcomes operatic vocalists of all nationalities and ethnicities to compete for the scholarships. All audition numbers must be selected from the Italian repertoire and written by an Italian composer.
The 48th annual Italian Cultural Center’s Vocal Scholarship competition was founded by the late Josephine L. LiPuma, a noteworthy operatic talent and Italian Cultural Center Member and Volunteer. The competition will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Italian Cultural Center, located at 1621 N. 39th, Stone Park, IL 60165. The Institute will be awarding $3,500.00 in scholarships this year to four talented winners. Completed application must be received by Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Contestants are eligible and encouraged, within age limitations, to compete year after year. Contestants cannot win the same scholarship more than once.
The scholarship recipients will then showcase their talents at an incredible concert and dinner on Sunday, November 12 at Casa Italia.
There is a $25 deposit to participate. A full refund of $25 will be issued only if a contestant performs at our competition on October 28 or a written cancellation is sent to info@casaitaliachicago.org on or before October 23. No other refunds will be allowed. The refund will take up to 5 business days.
