Alex Carpani Alex Carpani and his band arrive in America for a concert night at Reggies, on the occasion of their tour, presenting the new album Microcosm.

Composed of 12 tracks, musically speaking Microcosm is the meeting point between various genres and influences: progressive rock, jazz-rock, symphonic rock, alternative rock. A music rich in details, refined arrangements and moments of great rhythmic intensity.

It is a concept album about a world in miniature, opposed to macrocosm. Human beings can be viewed as an epitome of the universe, small-scale models of the universe, with all its variety and contradiction. When you think of microcosm, picture your home town inside a snow globe: the teeny tiny city is a microcosm of the one you live in. It is that place in miniature. All this is represented here with a series of slices of life, possible real-life experiences through the 12 songs of the album.

The album production has involved some prestigious musicians of the International prog rock scene: David Cross on violin (ex King Crimson), Theo Travis on sax (Soft Machine, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson), Jon Davison on vocals on one track (Yes), David Jackson on sax and flute (ex Van der Graaf Generator, Peter Gabriel), Bruno Farinelli on drums (Elisa, Il Volo, Cesare Cremonini, Lucio Dalla), Andrea Torresani on bass (Vasco Rossi, Franco Battiato, Tiziano Ferro), Emiliano Fantuzzi on guitar (Nek, Laura Pausini, Biagio Antonacci).
